These are just the start. You might need to make doing 5 pull-ups your first challenge. Or 5 push-ups. Or a handstand. You can even make your own challenges, and post them here for us to check out.

Note: these are not just for men. There is no reason many or most of these can be done by women too. And they won't make a woman bulky unless she takes steroids; it's not in a woman's body to bulk up like that.

Marine Corps Fitness Test (for a 17-26 year old male)

Descending sets of Burpees with 10-second rests between sets from 20 to 1 (20, 19, 18, etc.)

Mighty Men Challenge
10 Pistols (10 on each leg)

100 Burpees (5 minutes)

Beast Challenge (from Russian Kettlebell Club)
With a 72 lbs Kettlebell
1 Military Press
1 Pull-up
1 Pistol
(You can scale this down to either a 53 or a 35 lbs kettlebell. That is still quite a challenge on the pull-up and pistol.)

Tactical Strength Challengelink
2 or 3 times a year gyms around the country hold this challenge. Depending on the class you enter (novice, open, elite, or masters), you will max deadlift, do max pull-ups (with or without weight), and do max kettlebell snatches in 5 minutes. Check the website for the rules for each class.

Bar-barian Standardslink
This challenge is part of the membership requirements for a bodyweight training group called the Bar-barians. This mostly tests upper body muscular endurance. And it is intense.
