I love lists of people's favorite exercises, and I like updating mine.
Favorite Exercises
- Pull-ups: The gold standard for upper-body strength. Shoot for 5 to start with.
- Sprints: Nothing makes me feel more capable and athletic than running sprints once a week on a soccer field.
- Kettlebell Snatches: A great full-body conditioning exercise. I love doing :15 seconds of work/:15 seconds of rest for 20 minutes. The energy used in that workout is equivalent to running 6-minute miles.
Favorite Exercises for Weight Loss
- Burpees: If you can handle the jumping (probably not safe for obese people), then nothing else will help you shred your body than Burpee Ladders.
- Walking: Go for a walk every evening after dinner. Your mind and your body will thank you--and take your family.
- Kettlebell Swings: This is difficult enough for strength development, but easy enough for conditioning workouts.
