The Mitch Rapp Challenge

One of the most popular posts here is on The Mitch Rapp Workout. So I thought I'd create a Mitch Rapp Challenge based on his abilities in the book.

In the books, Rapp is a former lacrosse player and competitive tri-athlete. So any Rapp challenge has to include a type of triathlon. A normal triathlon involves swimming, cycling, and running. We'll make our challenge a sprint triathlon (more on that in a minute).
During his training (described in American Assassin), he has to do 20 perfect pull-ups twice.

So any Mitch Rapp-based challenge is going to be pretty tough. The benchmarks will put you in the top-tier of athletes (because Rapp was the top). You can also take the challenge and use your first numbers as a benchmark that you want to beat. That way it's not so discouraging that you didn't win a triathlon or do 20 pull-ups at a time (although 20 is possible with good training).

Here's the challenge:

Complete a sprint triathlon in 70 minutes (0.5 mile swim/12.4 mile bike/3.1 mile run).
Complete 40 pull-ups in two sets of 20 with a 2 minute rest between sets.

The easiest way to complete this challenge is at a gym with a pool, track, and exercise bikes.
Doing this challenge outside takes more set up or you can register for a sprint triathlon in your area.

Have you taken the challenge? What was your time? And how have you improved?

If you're a Rapp fan, what other challenge would fit with his abilities and training?
