One Change to Feel Better and Lose Weight

When I train clients who want to lose weight, I tell them one change to start the weight loss process. I don't like to overload clients with lots of rules. I think small steps that make a big difference can encourage my clients to stick with the program. I'm also not a nutritionist.

So here's my one tip to start the weight loss process: Eat a high-protein/smart-carbohydrate breakfast. That's it. Don't change anything else to start with.

High-Protein: Eggs, bacon, un-sweetened yogurt, cottage cheese, trail mix, peanut butter, etc

Smart-Carbohydrate: Avoid grains or processed foods, and eat fruit or veggies instead--but not juice.

This one change will prime your body for the day to burn fat instead of carbs and will keep you from jumping on the carb-roller coaster to start the day. You won't be on sugar rushes throughout the day this way.

So if you are starting your weight loss journey or have that last 10 lbs to lose, start your day with high-protein/smart-carbs.

If you try this, let us know how it works for you.
