My Perfect Meal

I told a friend at work that I should write a diet book called "The Tuna-Cottage Cheese-Broccoli-Banana Diet." He laughed and said I should include carrots because I eat them all the time too. It was just a joke, but that really is my perfect meal. Here's why it should be yours too.

There are other foods that taste good, but this meal combines things that I like with the nutritional breakdown that I need.

My Eating Goals:
  • Protein heavy at every meal
  • Getting vitamins and carbohydrates from fruit and veggies
  • Feeling full without feeling bloated

What goes into the meal
  • 1/2 can of tuna with a little mayonnaise
  • 1/2 a cup of cottage cheese--full fat
  • 1 handful of fresh broccoli
  • several small carrots or 1/2 a large carrot
  • 1 banana
  • 8 0z. of water
Why it's so good
  • I like the taste--especially the tuna and cottage cheese
  • This has a lot of protein
  • Half the meal is veggies and fruit
  • The carbs come from smart sources
  • I feel lean and full
  • The fats are from good sources
  • I know exactly what's in the meal
Other Best-Meal Ideas
  • Plain Full-Fat yogurt with strawberries or bananas
  • 1 banana with fresh ground peanut butter and a drizzle of honey with a glass of milk
  • Meat and cheese roll-ups with veggies and fruit
  • 2 eggs, turkey bacon, hot sauce, onions, peppers, and cheese in a bowl
What are your best-meal ideas?
